Dr. Edward Richter

Process Authority/ Managing Partner

Dr. Richter has spent his career in the food industry.  First, as a Research Microbiologist at Unilever working with beverages, dairy, snack foods, acidified dressings and sauces, and rapid testing methodologies. Then as an Assistant Profession at The Ohio State University in the Department of Food Sciences and Nutrition. In 1989 he founded Siliker Laboratories of Ohio, Inc and with the Siliker organization built a food analytical research and service laboratory.  In 1997 he started Richter International an independent food safety, quality, defense and research-consulting group.  In 2017, Dr. Richter merged Richter International with other food safety service organizations, the organization later re-branded to Matrix Sciences. House Richter was founded in 2022 to continue to serve the food industry by providing expert consultation in Food Microbiological Preservation, Foodborne Disease, Food Quality, Safety, Food Diagnostics and Food & Pet Food Microbiology.  Dr. Richter is an FDA recognized Process Authority and has provided technical support in legal cases.

Dr. Jessica Dyszel

Partner

Dr. Dyszel joined Richter International in 2009 after graduate school as the Director of Research. In this capacity, Dr. Dyszel designed and performed customized projects to assist food manufacturers. Projects included microbiological challenge studies, shelf-life studies, and validation studies on new technologies and food matrices. She started consulting with clients in 2015, helping them understand microbiological data and risks.  In 2022 she joined BrightFarms, Inc. as the Director of Microbiology supporting the Agriculture, Food Safety, and Continuous Improvement Teams. She joined House Richter in 2025 and is excited to bring a practical approach and passion for science communication to the firm.
